Epic 10K Marathon



 After Covid 19 attacked, I started living a healthy life by exercising more and eating healthy foods. Almost every week I always run or walk at GBK, I always see people wearing the same marathon clothes and I wonder if I can do a marathon to the finish line. I also want to know how capable I am in pursuing a target within a certain time. Finally my father signed up for a small marathon which was 10 kilometers. My father used to take part in marathons up to 21 kilos. So this is my first experience participating in this marathon. 


Two weeks before the marathon started I practiced running on the treadmill so I wouldn't get stiff during the event. The conditions for this marathon are that we have to reach the finish line within 1 hour 30 minutes at a distance of 10 kilometers. This is a scary challenge for me who has never participated in thisBefore the day the event started, I had been preparing since 5 am, eating fruit and wearing clothes that runners usually wear. Arriving at the start location at 6 o'clock, I looked for peace and took a photo on the track map before I ran. 

The number of people participating is very large, reaching more than 1000 people. Immediately the race started, my father and I ran as usual, arrived at the 2nd kilometer checkpoint, my legs were starting to feel hot and at each checkpoint there was a small cup to drink. Continuing to the 5th kilometer, my legs started shaking and my heart rate could not be controlled. There are also many photographers on standby at each checkpoint. and we have to take 3 ropes to get the marathon medal. At the 7th kilometer my eyes were blurry, my legs were weak, the sweat couldn't be dried. 



Luckily I didn't get cramps while running there. Finally I entered the last checkpoint at kilometer 9 and had 1 kilo left. the brain is no longer able to move these legs but the spirit to win is not shaken. and when I touched the finish line I immediately lay down on the grass because I was so numb. My father used to laugh when he saw me. It's true that my physical appearance is still not good, but by participating in this event I can change my entire body.


 I was exhausted when the marathon ended at eight in the morning, and it stayed with me till the next day. The hands and feet hurt a lot as well. Even though it's only ten kilometers, I'm rather happy with and proud of myself for overcoming and participating in this extremely tough marathon. Although achieving that goal is extremely challenging, if we succeed, we will always be proud of ourselves and think back on it often.
